I cannot think of a worse movie to receive such high praise from such top critics. The consistent comparisons to Terence Malick do Malick a huge disservice. It almost seems as if people are trying really hard to convince themselves of reasons to like this mess

because it actually starts out quite nicely. The compositions and hybrid documentary/narrative style create a fluid mix of structure and chaos that is very enjoyable. But then about a half hour in, the film loses steam, and the film spirals quickly out of control, and not in a good way. When I read interviews with the director about how the film was shot quickly after another project fell through, it all made sense.

The artistic failure of the film would not bother me so much if I hadn't read so many positive reviews.
