The World According to Shorts presents a program of six notable French short films, featuring a broad range of styles and genres, from animation to fiction to documentary, reflecting the diversity of both the visions of contemporary French filmmakers and the people of France.
Titles include “Kitchen” by Alice Winocour; “Gratte-papier” (Pen-Pusher) by Guillaume Martinez; “My Mother: Story of an Immigration” by Felipe Canales; “One Voice, One Vote” by Jeanne Paturle and Cecile Rousset; “The Last Day” by Olivier Bourbeillon; and “L’origine de la tendresse” by Alain-Paul Mallard. Between them, the films have been honored with numerous awards and nominations at festivals from Cannes to Berlin to Montreal and beyond.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and with the generous support of Unifrance USA.
