WE ARE WIZARDS tracks the influential figures leading the creative subculture surrounding the popular series. The film follows a set of individuals ranging from web journalists, authors, artists, filmmakers and musicians, as they enhance and expand the Harry Potter story, often in unexpected ways. WE ARE WIZARDS is a portrayal of creative fans with a common goal: to make their voices heard.
"A highly enjoyable illustration of how, even in the limited universe of pop culture, people create, refract and remix their own stories." --Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com
"A tremendous film about the intriguing world of Harry Potter fandom. Alternatively funny and moving, this is probably one of the best films I’ll see in 2008.” --Laremy Legel, Film.com
"Entertaining and eye-opening!" -- Stay Free Magazine
"A marvelous, sideways glance at our pop culture in all its fragmented, self-referential, nerdy glory." --Shahnaz Habib, The Brooklyn Rail
"Even if you’re not a fan of the Harry Potter series, the characters in We are Wizards will charm you and maybe even convert you to their perspective on the fantasy world of witches and muggles." --Tim Basham, Paste Magazine

This was one of the funniest and entertaining documentaries I saw at the SXSW fest this year. It's definitely worth checking out, whether you're a potter fan or not.

Very funny and heartwarming in many ways. I don't like fantasy and have never read Harry Potter but liked the film!

This film really was one of my favorites I saw at the Boston festival. I wouldn't even classify myself as a harry potter fan. It's just a great film!!

I saw We Are Wizards in Boston. This movie was great fun to watch - with some clever animations, an awesome score, and cute kids. At the same time, it presented a balanced view of the world that exists between The Books and Reality that as a fan, I wasn't even aware of! We're going to NYC to see it tonight!

I hope to see this film via Cinema Village in New York on Nov. 25th, since that's the same day I'm seeing Equus. I'm just hoping that it's still going to be showing by that day. Please keep it Cinema Village!! Thanks!
