Master chronicler of post-War England, Terence Davies (The Long Day Closes, The House of Mirth) directs Rachel Weisz as a woman whose overpowering love threatens her well-being and alienates the men in her life. In a deeply vulnerable performance, Rachel Weisz plays Hester Collyer, the wife of an upper-class judge (Simon Russell Beale) and a free spirit trapped in a passionless marriage. Her encounter with Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston), a troubled former Royal Air Force pilot, throws her life in turmoil, as their erotic relationship leaves her emotionally stranded and physically isolated. The film is an adaptation of British playwright Terence Rattigan’s 1952 play, featuring one of the greatest roles for an actress in modern theatre.
“Exquisite, nuanced, romantic. Rachel Weisz will break your heart.” - Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly
“A sublime evocation of amour fou.” Graham Fuller, Film Comment
“Sublimely, deliciously romantic” Richard Brody, The New Yorker
Critics Pick “Rachel Weisz is incandescent” AO Scott, The New York Times

Ok. Well. I might choose Abe for his stoeirs, but who are we kidding? We'd be stuck taking care of him and listening to the same stoeirs again and again. Desert island, I'd probably do either Ewan or Rachel, cuz seriously, who wouldn't, and what else would there be to do? And procreation's not really an option, I mean, wouldn't want to subject a child to life without an xbox, so yeah, either would do... Both have played kick ass characters, so I'm sure they could help or do most of the hunting/gathering/shelterbuilding. And they both seem like good people. This is actually kind of hard. Hm... I think Rachel Weiss would be least likely to spend the time talking about herself, so I guess I'll choose her. :)

Hmmm, if I'm choosing based on my wish for siuvrval, I'd probably choose Ewan McGregor. He's young-ish, his arms are stronger than my noodle arms, and he's got that cool space in his teeth (he could chop down trees like a beaver?)If it had to do with my mental siuvrval, I'd probably choose Rachel. I think she's super cool and would probably be able to carry a conversation.Poor Abe!
