HERE COMES THE DEVIL combines modern indie filmmaking and storytelling with a hint of Ď70s-styled psychological horror that may not just be psychological.

Francisco Barreiro and Laura Caro play parents Felix and Sol whose preteen son and daughter inexplicably reappear after being lost overnight on a desolate, cave-riddled mountainside after a casual hike became every parentís nightmare. The good luck and good fortune of their return soon changes, as the childrenís behavior suggests ominous and unspeakable events the night the children were lost that continue even now.

As a loving couple - and loving parents - try to care for and protect their children, the ancient and half-whispered legends around the caves and the mountain and those who have gone there before become too strange to believe...and too dangerous, no matter how insane, to ignore.

"Incredibly entertaining. Itís got a little bit of everything for the hardcore horror nut."
- Bloody Disgusting

"Magnificently creepy. It utterly floored me."
- Steve Prokopy, Ainít It Cool News

"An exercise in escalating dread that continuously defies the seasoned horror fan's expectations."
- Matt Barone, Complex

Awesome! I'm so glad I got to see this in a theater - I love this guy's movies and this is the first one to get a US release as far as I know - fun, crazy, nutty and smart - definitely not like anything else that usually gets a theatrical run - full of glorious weirdness and unsettling ideas that gets stranger as it progresses - so not run of the mill - and at the same time being familiarly informed by exploitation traditions.. It's definitely more polished and a bit easier to take than his earlier films - in some ways more "mainstream" - but still fresher and more interesting than any mainstream horror genre film currently hitting theaters these days.. And I'll be back with friends as long as it keeps playing..
