IDEAL HOME

Characters are all quite believable, instantaneously lovable. Gets so very well at the complex interdependencies, grudges and everything else that characterize long-term intimate relationships. Add to that: it's a gay romance where nobody dies, nobody goes to jail, and there is no question of whether societal prejudices will intercede to break apart the main characters' love. Sex is a normal part of their life; not a central focus in the picture, but not erased. It's SO REAL and that makes it leap off the screen in a way that made me feel 'at last!' Also, for all it's sophistication as a character study, it is HYSTERICALLY funny at times. Don't miss.
