ONE MORE RECOMMENDATION

PERHAPS "THE DANISH GIRL" WOULD ALSO BE A GOOD COMPANION PIECE TO "LOVE TO THE MAX." THAT FILM WAS PARTLY FICTIONALIZED (FOR EXAMPLE, LILI ELBE WASN'T THE FIRST TRANSWOMAN. THE FIRST DOCUMENTED RRANSWOMAN WAS NAMED DORA RICHTER, WHO STARTED HER TRANSITION IN 1922- EIGHT YEARS BEFORE MS. ELBE WENT THROUGH HER TRANSITION). BUT IT'S STILL AN IMPORTANT CHRONICLE OF A PIONEER OF THE TRANSSSEXUAL COMMUNITY).

RECOMMENDATION FOR MORE FILMS ABOUT TRANS PEOPLE

June 26, 2024
THANK YOU FOR SHOWING A FILM ON SUCH AN IMPORTANT TOPIC. I REMEMBER SEEIUNG TWO EARLY '70'S FILMS ABOUT TRANSWOMEN AT THE 8TH ST PLAYHOUSE BACK IN THE SUMMER OF 1982: "THE CHRISTINE JORGENSEN STORY" & "I WANT WHAT I WANT." PERHAPS THE CINEMA VILLAGE CAN SHOW THOSE TWO FILMS- OR, "MONICA," A MORE MODERN FILM ABOUT TRANSWOMEN - & INCLUDE THIS SHORT FILM AS THE PRELUDE TO THE FEATURE FILM.
