Q&A on Friday September 23rd, for NOTHING COMPARES with director Kathryn Ferguson, after the 5pm showtime

The story of Sinéad O'Connor's rise to worldwide fame, and how her iconoclastic personality resulted in her exile from the pop mainstream. Focusing on prophetic words and deeds across a six-year period (1987-1993), the film reflects on the legacy of this fearless trailblazer, through a contemporary feminist lens.

Sinéad Strong!

September 29, 2022
Thanks to the director for this documentary that shows the protagonist's life, courage, her songs, her endurance. Thanks also to everybody that around her supported her artistic accomplishments and her human pathway, even if you weren't understanding, thanks for having faith in her. How unbelievable that in 1992 she was publicly exposing the abuses inside the Catholic Church and in one of the countries of the world where that church had enormous power. Sinéad O'Connor is a visionary in the truly sense of the word, as well as a seed, as she said it in the movie. We'll add a precious and fruitful one.

CURIOUS ABOUT THE CONTRADICTIONS IN SINEAD O'CONNOR'S STATEMENTS

September 28, 2022
I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY SEEN THIS FILM YET (I HOPE TO DO SO BEFORE IT LEAVES THE CINEMA VILLAGE). I REGRET THAT I MISSED THE Q & A BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE ASKED THE DIRECTOR A QUESTION ABOUT A STATEMENT THAT MS. O'CONNOR MADE ABOUT DESIREE WASHINGTON AFTER SHE ACCUSED MIKE TYSON OF RAPE. WHEN SHE WAS BEING INTERVIEWED BY A REPORTER FROM "PLAYBOY" MAGAZINE , SHE SAID, "I DON'T CARE IF HE RAPED HER." THAT WAS CERTAINLY AN ODD STATEMENT- ESPECIALLY SINCE MS. O'CONNOR CALLED POPE JOHN PAUL "THE REAL ENEMY" BECAUSE SHE FELT HE DIDN'T DO ENOUGH TO STOP PRIESTS WHO WERE SEXUALLY ABUSING CHILDREN. IF WE'RE GOING TO CRITIICIZE PRIESTS WHO ABUSE CHILDREN- AND THE PEOPLE WHO COVER UP FOR THEM- THEN SHOULDNT WE ALSO SUPPORT THE WOMEN WHO MAKE ACCUSATIONS OF RAPE? (I ALSO REALIZE THAT WE HAVE TO GIVE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT TO THE ACCUSED). AND MIKE TYSON WAS LATER PROVEN TO BE GUILTY.
