MISS VIOLENCE is a stark, joyless tale but one that is very well directed by Alexandros Avranas!

Cautiously revealing its secrets with utmost precision, “Miss Violence” is a brilliantly perverse work that is sure to shock and leave a lasting, unsettling, impression, based on a true story about the suicide of a teenager in Germany.

Miss Violence is a grim tale of family dysfunction that also stands as an allegory about moral and economic decline in Greek society. The film begins in startling fashion with a suicide at a children's party. The characters all seem beaten down and oppressed, under the yoke of an abusive patriarch (Themis Panou).
