In 2004, young actress-to-be Mong Hoai and aspiring artist Minh Hieu meet in Hoi An and dream of creating a story about an Astronaut and a Lonely Bloom. Ten years later, they reunite in Saigon and fall in love, but their increasingly different dreams eventually tear them apart. When Hoai becomes pregnant, she chooses to raise their daughter, Minh Anh, on her own and puts her acting career aside. Years later, she leaves for New York to study musical theatre. Upon returning home, Hoai creates a children’s musical starring herself as the Lonely Bloom and Minh Anh as the Astronaut - bringing the dream she once shared with Hieu back to life.
