A Rising Fury follows two hopeful Ukrainian idealists from the 2013 peaceful protest in Kyiv to the full-scale Russian invasion to Ukraine in 2022. Pavlo and Svitlana met and fell in love at the Maidan Revolution and were filmed for nearly 10 years with several expeditions to the frontlines of the war. Pavlo loses his family home from the invasion and joins the Ukrainian military. Both find themselves on the battle lines, protecting their land, democracy, and their relationship.

Powerful. Informative & emotional.

Powerful film & informative. There is so much truth that must be told and this documentary does that. Showing the struggle Ukrainian people had to go through since 2014. I recommend everyone to watch this film.

"A Rising Fury" is more than a documentary, it's a profound a film bringing to light significant events of an independent Ukraine through the experience of true patriots of the country. Especially impressing how deep the producers when into lives of the main characters OVER 10 years of filming, every Ukrainian can relate to the expirience.

PROVOCATIVE PORTRAYAL OF PUTIN'S IMPERIALIST AGGRESSIONS

November 1, 2023
THIS IS THE PERFECT MOVIE TO BRING OUT AT THIS TIME BECAUSE PEOPLE NEED TO BE REMINDED OF HOW HORRIBLE PUTIN HAS BEEN TO THE UKRAINIAN PEOPLE- EVER SINCE HE INVADED CIMEA BACK IN 2014. I ONLY WISH THAT THE FILM'S DIRECTORS, LESYA KALYNSKA & RUSLAN BATYTAKYI, HAD MENTIONED THAT PUTIN WAS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ETHNIC CLEANSING OF THE GEORGIANS WHO WERE LIVING IN ABKHAZIA DURING THE CONFLICT BETWEEN THE GEORGIANS & ABKHAZIANS BACK IN 2008. (I REALLY HOPE THAT SOMEONE WILL MAKE A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THAT, TOO). ONE OF THE THINGS THAT MADE THIS FILM SO PERFECT WAS THE WAY THAT IT DEPICTED THE GREAT LOVE BETWEEN PAVLO & SVITLANA, WHICH WAS WHY I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED TO LEARN TOWARDS THE END OF THE FILM THAT THEY HAD SEPARATED . WE ALSO GOT A GREAT SENSE OF HOW BETRAYED PAVLO FELT WHEN HE LEARNED THAT HIS FRIEND, IGOR, WAS SIDING WITH PUTIN. I WAS ALSO GLAD TO SEE THE CLIPS OF SENATOR JOHN MC CAIN & PRESIDENT OBAMA SPEAKING UP ON BEHALF OF THE UKRAINIAN PEOPLE. ONE OF THE REASONS THAT I COULDN'T VOTE FOR TRUMP WAS THAT HE DENIED THE FACT THAT SEN. MC CAIN WAS A WAR HERO "BECAUSE HE GOT CAUGHT. I LIKE PEOPLE WHO DON'T GET CAUGHT" (AND ALL THAT FROM SOMEONE WHO REFUSED TO SERVE IN VIETNAM BECAUSE HE ALLEGEDLY HAD "BONE SPURS"). HOWEVER, I WISH THAT PRESIDENT OBAMA HAD ACKNOWLEDGED THAT HE WAS WRONG TO RIDICULE MITT ROMNEY BACK IN 2012 WHEN HE TRIED TO WARN PEOPLE ABOUT PUTIN'S EVIL INTENTIONS. AT THE TIME, PRESIDENT OBAMA SAID, "1985 CALLED. THEY WANT THEIR FOREIGN POLICY BACK." I HOPE THAT PRESIDENT OBAMA- WHO DID ACHIEVE GREATNESS WHEN HE HELPED TO STOP OSAMA BIN-LADEN & ANWAR AL-AWAKI- WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT WAS WRONG OF HIM TO RIDICULE SEN. ROMNEY & THAT IT WAS A BIG MISTAKE TO CALL ISIS "A JV TEAM" & TO ALSO CURRENTLY CRITICIZE ISRAEL FOR TRYING TO STOP HAMAS. AFTER ALL, PUTIN, ISIS, & HAMAS ARE THE MOST EVIL WAR-MONGERS IN TODAY'S WORLD.

That’s actually how it all happened

I’ve seen a few documentaries about Ukraine but lost of them are either from 2014 or from current big war, but this movie tells it all and covers it in such a captivating way. Going to go see it again!

You won't sleep at night

An incredible true story of horrific events, unfolding in Ukraine for the last 10 years. You won’t see anything that truthful and accurate, as this documentary. It is an elegant and at the same time heart-wrenching feature. It will leave you with your jaw dropped.

a must-see

October 14, 2023
A must-see for everybody who wants to know how the Russian aggression was prepared, and how subversive active measures were taken by Russian agents on the territory of Ukraine before the start of war. The film will keep you on the edge of the chair. Masterfully done. Highly recommended.

A Masterpiece of Verite Documentary

October 6, 2023
I watched “A Rising Fury” several times and could not hold back tears of gratitude to its courageous and talented creators. At last, justice has been served to hundreds of thousands of internally displaced Ukrainians from Donbas in 2014, who resisted the unprovoked Russian invasion at the time when Ukraine had neither internal resources nor international support to openly call the war “war” and had to settle for the euphemistic “anti-terrorist operation (ATO)” instead. By telling a simple story of love, friendship, betrayal, and dignified resistance, the film brilliantly exposes the cynical technologies of influence and coercion the Russian FSB agents employed in the Donbas (parts of Luhanks and Donetsk oblasts) to groom the disadvantaged Ukrainian youth to side with the aggressor and to make the world believe, at least at the early stages of this 9-year long war, as if people in the Donbas “invited” the Russian occupation. Watching it you will be inspired by the beautiful close-ups of Ukrainian heroes’ faces and heart-wrenched at the sight of refugees, total distraction of once blooming cities and villages. Hear the voice of Ukraine: it protects not only itself but also the human values we believe in as global community.
