(PG) 84 min
  • DIRECTOR: Gints Zilbalodis

Synopsis:

A wondrous journey, through realms natural and mystical, Flow follows a courageous cat after his home is devastated by a great flood. Teaming up with a capybara, a lemur, a bird, and a dog to navigate a boat in search of dry land, they must rely on trust, courage, and wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet. From the boundless imagination of the award-winning Gints Zilbalodis (Away) comes a thrilling animated spectacle as well as a profound meditation on the fragility of the environment and the spirit of friendship and community. Steeped in the soaring possibilities of visual storytelling, Flow is a feast for the senses and a treasure for the heart.

Great flim beautiful incredible journey all time favorite film.

Profound film I have seen 5 times .Visually stunning moving film dream like, beautiful. This is an absolutely beautiful motion picture that is visually stunning compassionate and caring. It is more of an experience then a film. Where you care about the animal characters and the fantastic world that they live in. The animals behave and interact as real animals. But with compassion and feeling. I have never seen film quite like this. And I have seen lots of films. It is remarkable that after seeing this film I took the time to speak to others in the audience and they all felt the same way. I have gone back to see the film several times picking up more each time that I see it. I must give credit to the the musical score which I have already purchased It is beautiful and touching.I think It will be playing for at least one more week see It in a theatre

REQUEST FOR PEOPLE TO SEE "FLOW"

April 1, 2025
IF THESE REALLY ARE THE FINAL THREE DAYS TO SEE "FLOW" AT THE CINEMA VILLAGE, I HOPE THAT EVERYONE WILL TAKE THE CHANCE TO DO SO. WE DEFINITELY NEED TO BE REMINDED OF THE IMPORTANCE OF PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT, & ALSO OF PROTECTING ANIMAL RIGHTS, & "FLOW" DOES BOTH EXCEPTIONALLY WELL.

BEAUTIFUL USE OF ANIMATION & BEAUTIFUL ENVIRONMENTAL MESSAGE

January 22, 2025
DIRECTOR GINTS ZILBALODIS & CO-SCREENWRITER MATISS KAZA HAVE SUCCEEDED IN USING ANIMATION TO WARN PEOPLE OF THE DANGERS OF CLIMATE CHANGE (WHICH IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT SINCE A CLIMATE DENIER WAS JUST REELECTED PRESIDENT) & ALSO SHOW HOW PEOPLE (OR, IN THIS CASE, ANIMALS) CAN FORM BONDS DURING TIMES OF CRISIS. I REALIZE THAT ANIMATION HASN'T ALWAYS BEEN USED FOR POSITIVE PURPOSES. I REMEMBER HOW THOSE OLD "POPEYE" & "BUGS BUNNY" CARTOONS ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE ENCOURAGING BULLYING, & HOW THE MORE RECENT "SOUTH PARK" CARTOON ALWAYS ENDED ITS EPISODES BY "JOKING" ABOUT ONE OF THE CHILDREN GETTING KILLED. AND, ALTHOUGH I USUALLY LIKED THE "PEANUTS" SPECIALS, I WAS TROUBLED BY THE THANKSGIVING EPISODE BECAUSE IT SHOWED THE ONE AFRICAN-AMERICAN CHILD (FRANKLIN) BEING LEFT TO SIT ALONE AT A SMALL TABLE WHILE THE WHITE CHILDREN ALL GOT TO SIT TOGETHER AT THE LARGE TABLE. BUT, WITH "FLOW," THE EXACT OPPOSITE HAPPENS. WHEN THE LEADER OF A PACK OF BIRDS GETS BEATEN BY A YOUNGER BIRD, THE OTHER BIRDS FLY AFTER THE NEW LEADER, & ABANDON THE OLDER LEADER. AT THAT MOMENT, THE CAT IN THE FILM WALKS UP BESIDE THE OLDER BIRD IN A SHOW OF SOLIDARITY & FRIENDSHIP, & THE OTHER ANIMALS FOLLOW SUIT. I DON'T KNOW IF J.D. VANCE WOULD APPRECIATE THIS FILM. BUT THOSE OF US WHO ARE "CHILDLESS CAT PEOPLE" DEFINITELY APPRECIATE IT!
