A thoughtful movie with a lot of heart!

November 19, 2018
Film Director Hideto Sonoda is a fan of Taiwanese President Lee Teng-hui, who oversaw the transition for Taiwan from dicatatorship to democracy.  The film focuses on his life story and its parallels with Taiwan's history.  The film weaves unconventionally between documentary and narrative/fiction story telling with visuals and perspectives showcasing a definite Japanese sensibility. All in all, Philosophy King is a film that argues for love and heart against evidences of fear and hopelessness.  A perspective that we need more than ever!
