  • DIRECTOR: James Demo

THE PEACEMAKER follows international peacemaker Padraig O'Malley, who helps make peace for others but struggles to find it for himself. The film takes us from Padraig's isolated life in Cambridge, Massachusetts to some of the most dangerous crisis zones on Earth – from Northern Ireland to Kosovo, Nigeria to Iraq over five years – as he works a peacemaking model based on his recovery from addiction. We meet Padraig in the third act of his life in a race against time to find some kind of salvation for both the world and himself.

This is a little masterpiece. I usually don't see a film and think how great the director was but today I got the gift of a truly great film and the chance to travel through the life of an extraordinary human being living in an ordinary world. I also got an insider look at the inspiration and power of sobriety. It made me feel there is hope for us. It made me want to be a better person.

An Extraordinary experience

One of the most profound films I have seen in many years. Brilliantly directed and you will fall in love with the protagonist, a complex character who is as fearless and risk taking as Muhammad Ali, yet is an unguarded warrior who quietly acts from an unstoppable determination from an intolerance for unnecessary suffering. This is a most beautiful example of the potential of humanity when we choose the possibility of love & commonality over the destructiveness of fear and separatism. It also made me see that getting older can be full of adventure, humor, achievement and even world peace, especially when the adventure includes making peace with oneself.
