Exceptional documentary

Iowa Vet: Dogs, Cats, Corn, and Murder is one of the most riveting documentaries I have ever watched.
From the opening moments, it grabs your attention and never lets go. What begins as one story evolves into something entirely unexpected, with twists, turns, and startling pivots that continually reshape what you think you know. Just when you believe you’ve figured it out, the narrative shifts again, revealing new layers and raising even more compelling questions.
The pacing is exceptional. Despite its surprising complexity, the film absolutely flies by. Every scene feels purposeful, every revelation more fascinating than the last. The filmmakers masterfully balance small-town charm, Mormonism, veterinary medicine, and a shocking criminal mystery into a story that is as captivating as it is unforgettable. While a few some questions remain frustratingly unresolved, these are minor shortcomings in an otherwise engrossing experience.
By the end, I found myself reflecting not only on the events themselves, but on the people, relationships, and circumstances that made this extraordinary story possible. Rarely does a documentary keep me this engaged from beginning to end.
Iowa Vet is, quite simply, one of the most interesting and compelling documentaries I have ever experienced. Highly recommended.
